frequently asked questions
How Do Brick Lab Parties Work?
We arrive 30-60 minutes before the start time. We set up the tent, tables, & chairs and get everything ready for an amazing party.
Your party will start with the kids picking their bricks and figures to play with during the open creative play time, followed by LEGO® car race track and/or zip line builds. The party will end with each kid taking a trip through the Mini Figure Factory to design and build a mini figure to take home. Please plan for cake and food after your brick party time.
Do I Have To Pay A Deposit?
All bookings require a $100 deposit via credit card, with the balance due when we arrive for your event. We accept cash and all major credit cards on the day of your event, no checks please. All deposits are non-refundable, but are transferable. If you need to change your party date we are happy to work with you to find a new date and apply your deposit to it. We do require 48 hours notice for any change that is not weather related.
Are Your Building Blocks Clean?
We clean and sanitize all bricks used from the last party before restocking them in the trailer. Your kids health & safety is our top priority.
Do The Kids Get To Keep What They Build?
Chattanooga Brick Lab is an interactive, creative play experience. Unfortunately the cost of Lego® bricks makes allowing the kids to keep what they build both cost prohibitive, and an inventory challenge. While the kids do not get to keep the creations they build, they do leave the event with a Mini Figure they create and build and a great goody bag.
What is STEM?
Getting a definition for STEM is easy enough: it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; however STEM is much more than just a useful way of grouping subjects in a catchy acronym. At its core, STEM is a teaching philosophy that integrates all four disciplines together into a single, cross-disciplinary program which offers instruction in real-world (as opposed to purely academic) applications. Educating children on STEM concepts has become a large focus in our schools over the past few years, and it is our goal to inspire children to pursue careers in STEM fields through educational play and hand-on learning at a young age.
Where should I have my Brick Party?
The best place is the front yard and driveway. We will back the Brick Lab Trailer into your driveway and set up our 10x20 party tent with tables and chairs on the grass on concrete next to the trailer. We can also leave the trailer on the curb if you don't have room in your driveway or it is not flat.
Do I have to use your party tent?
Absolutely not, the tent is provided as part of the package to provide shade and protection from the sun, we are happy to set up tables in the garage if you would prefer to not use the tent. We don't recommend having the party outside with out the tent.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
For the safety of your guest and our crew, we can not set up if it is raining or if rain looks imminent. However, we are happy to reschedule your event for another day. We can also offer to bring the event into your garage or home, while the kiddos won't be able to visit the Brick Lab Trailer in bad weather we can bring a huge collection of LEGO® bricks inside, along with the race track and games that make Chattanooga Brick Lab Parties so much fun.
